HI, I’M LAURA

I’m an award-winning journalist who spent nearly 10 years working at daily newspapers. I am currently a freelance journalist and guest columnist. As a freelancer, I specialize in features and current events.

In November 2019, I took my reporting to Instagram with the account @TheNewNewsroom. There I cover the daily headlines clearly and quickly for the busy newsy.

Outside of the newsroom, I am a mom to three tiny humans (4, 6 and 9), and a military spouse. Military life has given me a chance to live all over the country, from the Mojave Desert to the Carolina coast. I like to say, “I don’t go on vacation, I just live places for three years at a time.” While it’s hard saying goodbye to people and places I love, I have become an expert at unpacking boxes, finding wall studs and making friends.
